WMBA RAD - Rapid Application Development
The DigitaLink RAD is a robust product that enables you to design custom forms for a variety of applications. The intuitive graphical interface of DigitaLink RAD allows you to easily build a form that is just right for your organization.
The software has four key components
• WYSIWYG layout tool for form design
• A business rule and scripting language for robust data verification
• Extensive data path technology for communication to back end data bases and systems
• PDF Form Editor
Layout
For layout there are a series of tasks that are accomplished through drop and drag technology and dialogs within WMBA Designer Software. Much of the layout is performed using the toolbar buttons. These buttons allow for a wide range of data types and data collection objects to easily be included in the form: alpha fields of various lengths; numeric fields; alphanumeric fields, check box groups; free form fields; as well as a variety of specialized fields such as social security number and a wealth of date and time fields The for designer can also include images to further enhance the look of the form being created. It is also very easy to order, group, and align objects to give the form a more professional look.
Business Rules
A form may require simple business rules (required fields), cross field validation rules (if gender is Male then question 5 must be greater than 8) or the most sophisticated business rules imaginable. With WMBA Designer Software, each of these types of rules can be built into the form during layout using the business rule and scripting language within the designer.
Data Path Technology and Communication
The true power of electronic data capture comes in integrating it into existing enterprise applications. The WMBA system was designed to have many modes of exporting data to external systems. From WMBA, data can be exported via ODBC, in XML files, or in comma-separated value (CSV) files. Images of forms and their ink can be exported in JPEG, GIF, TIFF, PNG, BMP, and PDF formats. For the ultimate in flexibility, an external application can connect to the WMBA Server’s back-end database via ODBC and pull exactly the data needed, including images of the ink for any given form element.
The WMBA Designer also allows for two way communication between the form application and any back end data base that can be accessed through ODBC. With this technology, WMBA allows for the data fields to be dynamically filled from an enterprise’s data base.
